Techopedia Explains Change Data Capture

Microsoft offers software with change data capture features. An example of this would be SQL Server 2008, which allows users to record, track and update data changes in real time. There is other software that allows the capture of data changes as well, like InfoSphere Change Data Capture.

CDC improves operational efficiency and saves enterprises time by eliminating the unneeded transfers of data that occur in many databases. It identifies the extraction process from production databases to data warehouses.
